Getting a Thai Visa For The Full Moon Party
October 17th, 2009
Every month, thousands of people gather on a beach in Thailand to celebrate the full moon. It's said that the party started among a group of backpackers in 1985. More and more people gathered with each full moon at Haad Rin Beach in Koh Phangan, and what was once an informal gathering has become an institution. Now, over 20,000 people attend an average Full Moon Party.
As the name suggests, Full Moon Parties last from sundown to sunup on the beach, every full moon. What happens at a full moon party? Imagine a giant dance party held under the moonlight. Vendors line up on the beach selling both alcoholic cocktails and supercharged energy drinks (Red Bull is based on a Thai energy drink formula, but the original is said to be even more powerful.)

October 15th, 2009
Want to take a walk on the wild side? Nigeria's Yankari National Park is your chance to see in person what most people only ever see in zoos or on the Discovery Channel- iconic African wildlife like lions, elephants, monkeys, antelope, hartebeest, African buffalo and hippopotamuses.
The Yankari is also a bird watcher's dream, with over 350 different types of birds, including storks, vultures and hornbills.
When you get tired of watching the animals, you can soak in the relaxing warm water of one of the park's hot springs, the largest of which is the Wikki spring.
According to Wikipedia, Yankari National Park has been a national park since 1991, and the area has been a protected game reserve since 1957. It is Nigeria's largest tourist attraction, with over 20,000 visitors in

When you think of surfing, California is probably the first place to come to mind. However, the world is full of interesting and exciting destinations to catch a wave. One up-and-coming surf spot is the small Central American country of El Salvador, known for gorgeous beaches and perfect waves.
According to this post on the La Cocotera Resort's blog, surfers visit El Salvador for "ideal surfing conditions, unique wildlife, beautiful beaches and captivating culture."
If you are considering a surfing vacation in El Salvador, you will need a valid passport and the appropriate visa. If you are staying less than 30 days, you can get an El Salvador visa ahead of time or apply for a tourist card when you arrive at the El Salvadorean border. For longer stays, you should apply in advance
Getting an Egyptian Visa To See The Pyramids
October 9th, 2009
"I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies..." Ozymandias, by Percy Bysshe Shelley
The pyramids of Egypt have captivated the world for thousands of years. In fact, the Great Pyramid was named the 7th Wonder of the Ancient World around 140 BC by the Greek writer Antipater of Sidon. It's the only monument on the list that's still standing!
There are actually several different pyramid groups in Egypt, but the pyramids of Giza (which include the Great Pyramid) are the most frequently visited by tourists. When you visit Giza, you can also see the famous statue of the Great Sphinx, the subject of the poem at the beginning of the post.

Getting a Russian Tourist Visa

Moscow is a beautiful city with some interesting historic attractions, like the imposing fortress of the Kremlin and the iconic onion-shaped domes of St. Basil's Cathedral. However, if you want to visit Moscow to see the sites, you will need to obtain a Russian tourist visa first.
This is not as easy as it sounds. Russia has a visa system that the US Department of State's website calls "restrictive and complicated." Here's a list of what you need to get a Russian tourist visa:
Your passport.
A completed visa application form
1 passport photo
A copy of your airline tickets or a copy of your itinerary showing your flight number and the dates that you'll be in Russia.
A tourist invitation from a Russian travel agency or hotel that can serve as your visa sponsor. The hote
