March 24th, 2010
Benin is a country in Western Africa.  Although the crime rate can be high in some areas,  according to the Lonely Planet it is one of the best countries in the region to travel in. Benin has a rich (but dark) history that makes for some interesting site-seeing opportunities. It was one of the centers of the slave trade in Africa, and today you can trace the path that took millions of Africans away from Africa and into lives of bondage. Tiwanaku also brought other cities under its leadership, sometimes through trade and treaties, sometimes by force. The city expanded its territory to include parts
