During the summer months pay attention if there are jellyfish washed up on the beach. They are not deadly but can deliver a painful sting. Women should wear long sleeves and pants when visiting religious sites. Israel is more expensive than many of its neighbors. It is similarly priced to Western Europe for visitors. In restaurants, it is standard practice to tip between 10-15% and tips are usually left in cash.
